(The April BOXYCHARM was shipped a couple of weeks ago and I've had for a bit but I have been out of town and busy with school so I haven't been able to write until now I apologize!! A lot happened every time I tried to make this - I'm sick so I don't want to put it on my face, I took a bad picture when I opened it and now the box is gone... blah, blah, blah. I'm sorry!! On with the article!)
In this months box everyone had the chance to get a variation of a Colourpop Palette and different shades of the Tartiest Pro Glow Liquid Highlight and a lipstick either a Mac color or an Adesse liquid lipstick.
Dr. Brandt Vaccum Cleaner Face Mask: This face mask is so WEIRD. Good weird though. When you rub it on your face it goes from clear to blue, and as it dries it turns into a whitish-blue color. Then you wash it off with a warm washcloth and your skin feels super nice and smooth! It helps tighten your pores, and retails for arounf $47. My only problem with this mask is that I think it smells kinda funny, just a little, and my sister said she didn't think it smelled bad so that's a matter of opinion. (It's the third swatch)
Adesse liquid Lipstick in Hi Definition: I really like this color and the formula is very different from liquid lipsticks I've bought in the past. It's pretty smooth, isn't patchy but it does rub off on glasses or anything your mouth touches. it's a very pretty color though. It retails for around $24. The thing that's weird is on my wrist swatch it looked kinda red, but it's actually brown on my lips-something to keep in mind! (Second swatch!)
MLP Palette: I really was hoping I wouldn't get this pallette, I don't like the colors in it or the theme of the palette and I gave it to a friend unopened so there will be no swatches of the colors this time - I'm sorry! It does retail for $16 on colourpop if you are interested.
The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel in Blonde: I'm blonde, as we all know, and I love this stuff. I've only ever had eyebrow pencils and one other eyebrow gel but it always put too much product on my eyebrows. This stuff is really good, it's a pretty color and the wand is small enough it won't clump putting it on. The gel retails for $22.
Tartiest Pro Glow Liquid Highlight in Stunner: I've never had a liquid highlight before it takes some getting used to. I do like it, I'm more of a fan of powder highlights but it will definitely get put to use! The highlight retails for $24. (First swatch!)
This month's box was really fun and I can't wait for next month's! Over all I really enjoyed it, and will be using everything again. (aside from the eyeshadow that I'm giving away!) Hope you guys enjoyed and see you next time! - Jessy
Stress comes in all shapes, and sizes - staying up late every night to study for a test, juggling school and work, (juggling school and races) or that crazy essay you have due in English next week. Those are all fine and dandy on their own, but when you start adding them up it can become too much.
Running on coffee every day and getting less than two hours of sleep a night isn't going to cut it, you're going to wear down after a while there's no two ways about it. I'm not here to preach about how coffee is terrible for you - we already know that. But for some people, it's the only thing keeping them going during the day. (there's that two hours of sleep coming into play.)
So first thing's first, try to get more sleep at night. I know for some people it really does seem like the end of the world for them to use more than those two hours a night to sleep. But I have more than one friend running around completely exhausted all the time. If you don't get enough sleep you won't have the energy for the upcoming day and if that's the case then you really won't get anything done. And if you don't have the energy to get everything done can you imagine how tired you'll be after putting all that work into school or your job? If you also care about the outcome of the work, you need to be able to focus and not be constantly rushing through every project.
Managing school work is really hard. But if you're smart about it you can work something out. Think about all the classes you have homework for and the grade you have in each class. Do homework in order of the lowest class grade and amount of points the projects are worth. It would be much worse to not get the homework done in a class you have a D in than it would for the class that you have an A in.
Think of different ways to make studying or doing homework fun. (I know, how dare I use fun and homework in the same sentence?!) You can find all kinds of motivators, listen to music, take a break between different assignments and go on a walk or watch an episode of your favorite TV show once you finish. Its great to be able to balance the things you love with work. For me, when class gets too stressful I relax in between them by writing or editing things for NASCARFemale.com, that doesn't sound like relaxing to some people but some days it's the only thing keeping me level-headed.
While you're working you could have the TV on in the background playing a talk show or something you don't have to pay a bunch of attention to - sometimes I put qualifying or a race's practice on TV to listen to while I work. However, I would never put the race on while I'm working because it's the only thing I would pay attention to. So pick and choose wisely. You can even motivate yourself with a snack, like when you get done with all of your homework you can have some Takis or something.
This leads to the next tip, watch what you eat! Yes I know I'm not your mom, but if you constantly eat sugary, fatty foods it will affect your mood. I'm not saying you can never have another piece of pie again, but make sure to eat some vegetables or fruit every now and then. You'd be surprised how much your mood increases when you eat a little better and drink a little more water. So, improve your mood - lessen the stress. And if you eat better you focus better - which means a better grade!
It's also no good if you don't remember everything you have to do in the day. Planners are your best bet. You can write down everything in them - homework, what chores you have, dates for upcoming events, (cough, cough, race dates, cough) anything you don't want to forget. You can get a planner virtually anywhere - Kroger, Walgreens, craft stores, Amazon, the dollar store, there are even websites that specialize specifically in planners, (thehappinessplanner.com) so get yourself a planner!
You need to have down time, try to set aside an hour out of the day where you have some you time. Spend that time doing something you enjoy, working out, reading a book, coloring, playing video games, watching YouTube, racing cars at 160 miles an hour, ya know whatever you're into. But that downtime is seriously important, its good to regroup and just take some deep breaths, and relax. I know what its like to worry about everything all the time nonstop even when you don't need to worry about the thing - it's exhausting. Having downtime helps distract you.
Speaking of downtime think of how many days you work or go to school a week - try to save one day (or at least most of that day if possible) to relax, watch TV, have a lazy day or a mental health day there's nothing weak about taking care of yourself, mentally or physically. For me watching a race isn't really relaxing so to speak... it means being super excited, learning everything I can and its very energy consuming but it is familiar so it helps me calm down.
Another big motivator of stress is anxiety. But that's a whole article in its self and we'll have to wait until another day for that one. I hope some of these tips help and you can handle stress a little bit more! We're getting close to exam season as well let me know if I should do an article around then about how to prepare or something.
Until next time, ~ Jessy :)

If you didn't guess by the title, this is my everything blog, where I write about... well everything! You get the idea. The only thing I don't write about here is NASCAR because I have a different blog for that.
