Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick had been battling each other for a number of laps. Busch even having over a three second lead over Harvick at some point. Harvick was closing the gap, and they were making contact soon after with only ten to go.
Harvick continued to bump Busch and Busch continued to block. Harvick moved him up the track and sped away, the team told the 4 earlier to 'do what he had to do.' Harvick held Busch off to take the win in New Hampshire. This was the fourth time this season Harvick and Busch finished 1-2.
This was Harvick’s sixth win this season, and 43rd career win. Harvick has never had 6 wins in a year before. This sixth win put him back ahead of Busch for the lead in the Cup standings.
Harvick talked about how he didn't want to waste time behind the 18, so he made his move.
"We were just running out of laps and we were both pushing. I knew I needed to take my opportunity." Harvick sad f hs move on Busch in Victory Lane.
