Even though we should never expect anything (especially in NASCAR) by this point it should come as no surprise that Kevin Harvick has taken another victory. This time, Harvick wasn't awarded with Play-Off points however, he was given a Million dollars.
The Charlotte All-Star race is NASCAR's big test for changes. One year the stages were tested, one year softer tires, this year a new aero-package. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the race live for the first time (more on that in another post!) I can easily say I loved the new aero-package.
Harvick won the first and third stages along with the final ten lap shootout. The second stage was own by Kyle Busch. Harvick has had such a dominate season so far - what comes next for driver number 4?
Harvick is now going for his sixth win of the season next weekend in the second Charlotte race - the Coca Cola 600. Often called the '600', it is the longest race of the entire season. Charlotte created the 600 in response to the Indy 500. Drivers constantly talk about how they lose a lot of water weight during the race. It used to be held during the day, but moving it to a night race has proven to be easier on the drivers. Will Harvick get another win this weekend? Tune in to find out!
I'm a junior in high school but that doesn't stop me from keeping up with and bringing you the latest from NASCAR!
